How we check fitment: these answers are written against the actual models on our shelves — WE Hi-Capa, 1911, M9, and SMG platforms and the magazines sold for them in our store — not copied from generic compatibility charts.

Are WE Hi-Capa 5.1 and 4.3 magazines interchangeable?

No. The WE Hi-Capa 5.1 uses 30-round magazines while the 4.3 uses shorter 28-round magazines — they are size-specific and not interchangeable. Always match the magazine size to your pistol model.

Are WE 1911 and Hi-Capa magazines interchangeable?

No. Although they look similar, the 1911 uses single-stack magazines while the Hi-Capa uses double-stack magazines. The magazine wells are different widths, so they cannot be interchanged. Always match the magazine to your specific model.

Can CO2 and green gas magazines be used interchangeably? For example, MG-92C vs MG-92G?

No. CO2 magazines and green gas magazines have different internal structures (valves and seal pressure ratings). The MG-92C (CO2 version) only works with CO2 magazines, and the MG-92G (green gas version) only works with green gas magazines. Mixing them can cause leaks or damage.

How many versions of WE M9 magazines are there, and which guns do they fit?

WE M9 magazines come in three main versions: MG-92G (green gas standard, 25–28 rounds depending on version), MG-92C (CO2 version, 25 rounds), and extended versions. They are not interchangeable across versions — match the magazine to your gun's gas type. Drum magazine versions for the M9 series are also available.

Which gun models do drum magazines fit?

WE drum magazines are model-specific, such as 1911 drum, Hi-Capa drum, and M9 drum versions. Drums are model-specific within each gun family — check the listed compatible models, as magazine sizes vary (e.g., Hi-Capa 4.3 vs 5.1). Check the listed compatible models before purchasing.

What does TM-compatible mean in an airsoft product listing?

TM-compatible means the part or gun follows the widely used design dimensions associated with Tokyo Marui patterns, so many aftermarket parts built to that pattern should fit. It is a compatibility reference, not a brand of manufacture, and it does not guarantee a perfect drop-in fit on every model. Tolerances vary between makers, so small fitting, shimming, or filing is sometimes needed. Before ordering, confirm the specific model and generation named in the listing, and keep packaging in case a return is necessary.

What does 14mm CCW thread mean on an airsoft outer barrel?

14mm CCW means the barrel tip has 14-millimeter counter-clockwise threads, the most common standard for attaching tracer units, mock suppressors, and flash hiders. CCW parts tighten in the opposite direction to ordinary screws, so new owners often think a fitting is cross-threaded when it is not. Always confirm thread direction and diameter before ordering an attachment, and never force a clockwise-thread part onto a CCW barrel.

How does adding a tracer unit or a mock suppressor change pistol balance and holster fit?

A tracer unit or mock suppressor adds weight at the muzzle, which slows how quickly the pistol points and can make the front feel heavy during long games. It also lengthens the gun, so many standard holsters will no longer close or retain it correctly. Check holster clearance before buying, and consider a universal or open-ended holster. The trade is worthwhile for night games with tracer BBs, but it is a handling change, not just a cosmetic one.

Does a tan or two-tone color variant of the same pistol model use the same magazines and parts as the black version?

Yes, a color variant is normally the same gun underneath, so magazines, internal parts, and most accessories interchange freely between the black, tan, and two-tone versions of one model. The difference is the finish applied to the slide, frame, or both, not the dimensions or the gas system. Compatibility problems arise between different models or different lengths, not between colors. When ordering a spare magazine, match the model and length first and ignore color, unless you specifically want the magazine's finish to match the gun.

How can you tell from a rifle listing whether its handguard uses Picatinny, M-LOK, or KeyMod mounting?

Look at the handguard photographs and the specification table together. A Picatinny handguard shows a continuous raised rail with evenly spaced cross slots on top. M-LOK uses rows of oblong slots cut into a smooth handguard, while KeyMod uses keyhole-shaped holes with the round end facing the muzzle. The listing should name the system in writing, because accessories only lock onto their own pattern without an adapter. If the text and photos disagree, ask the retailer before buying grips, lights, or rail sections for that rifle.

How can you tell from a listing where an AEG's battery fits, and why does that location matter?

The listing should state the battery location, commonly inside the stock, the handguard, or a buffer tube, and that location decides which battery shapes physically fit. A spacious stock accepts larger stick or block packs, while a slim handguard may only take a thin stick battery and can be fiddly to open between games. Check the stated compartment and connector together before ordering a spare pack. Guessing leads to batteries that will not fit, pinched wires, and covers that will not close properly.

Will AW Custom and KJW Hi-Capa magazines work in a WE Hi-Capa 5.1?

Yes, AW Custom and KJW Hi-Capa magazines interchange with WE and TM Hi-Capa pistols because they follow the same magazine pattern. A WE Hi-Capa 5.1 magazine holds 30 rounds, so expect similar loading, but still seat each spare magazine and fire a few test shots before a game. Check that the gas route seal sits flush against the nozzle and that the slide locks back on empty. Small differences in feed-lip tension between brands can occasionally cause a double feed, so test every new magazine rather than assuming identical behaviour.

Why does a TM Hi-Capa 5.1 magazine hold 31 rounds when a WE Hi-Capa 5.1 magazine holds 30?

The TM magazine holds 31 rounds and the WE magazine holds 30 because their internal BB channels and follower stops are dimensioned slightly differently, even though both magazines fit the same Hi-Capa pattern. Never force an extra BB into the WE magazine to match the TM count, since an over-compressed follower spring can deform feed lips and cause jams. Load each magazine to its own stated capacity, and remember that the one-round difference does not change fit, gas seal, or how the pistol cycles.

Can an Elite Force 1911 CO2 magazine fit a WE 1911 pistol?

No, an Elite Force 1911 magazine does not interchange with a WE 1911. The Elite Force gun is made by KWC as a CO2 design holding 14 rounds, with different magazine dimensions, valve placement, and locking geometry. A standard WE 1911 magazine is a green gas magazine holding 15 rounds and following the WE pattern instead. Forcing the wrong magazine can damage the magazine catch and feed lips without ever sealing correctly, so buy spare magazines listed specifically for the WE 1911 platform and test fit before filling.

Why will a KWA M9 magazine not work in a WE or KJW M9?

A KWA M9 magazine will not work in a WE or KJW M9 because KWA uses its closed NS2 system, and its magazines fit KWA pistols only. The KWA magazine holds 25 rounds but uses different valve and gas route geometry from the open pattern shared by other brands. WE M9 magazines hold 25 to 28 rounds depending on version and interchange with KJW and TM M9 magazines instead. Always match the magazine to the system family first, and only then compare capacity, finish, or price.

Do KJW and TM M9 magazines fit WE M9 pistols?

Yes, KJW and TM M9 magazines fit WE M9 pistols because all three brands share the same open magazine pattern. WE M9 magazines hold 25 to 28 rounds depending on the version, so a spare from the other brands should load and seal in the same way. Before relying on a mixed-brand spare, check the gas route seal height and fire a full magazine to confirm consistent cycling and slide lock on empty. Keep KWA magazines separate, since that closed system does not interchange with this group.

Why does the pressure gap between CO2 and green gas make their magazines non-interchangeable?

CO2 and green gas magazines are not interchangeable because CO2 runs at roughly 800 to 900 PSI while green gas runs at only 115 to 120 PSI. Each magazine reservoir, valve, and seal set is built for one pressure range, even when both versions exist for the same brand and model. A green gas magazine cannot safely contain CO2 pressure, and a CO2 magazine valve will not meter low-pressure green gas correctly. Match the magazine to the exact gas version of your pistol, every time.

Are G&G gas pistol magazines shared across different G&G pistol models?

No, G&G gas pistol magazines are model-specific and are not shared across different G&G pistol models. Unlike the WE, TM, and KJW Hi-Capa family, where magazines interchange between brands, a G&G magazine is shaped around one pistol's grip length, valve position, and feed-lip geometry. Check the exact model name on the listing, compare the baseplate and valve layout with your original magazine, and confirm the stated round count matches. If a listing only says it fits G&G pistols in general, treat compatibility as unconfirmed.

Why does the shorter WE Hi-Capa 4.3 magazine hold 28 rounds instead of 30?

The WE Hi-Capa 4.3 magazine holds 28 rounds because its body is shorter to match the compact 4.3 grip, leaving less room in the BB channel than the 5.1 magazine, which holds 30 rounds. That length difference is also why the two magazines are not interchangeable: a 4.3 magazine sits too short to feed reliably in a 5.1, and a 5.1 magazine extends below the 4.3 grip. When ordering spares, match the magazine to the exact slide length of your pistol.

What HPA pressure should you set for a TM-spec pistol compared with a WE pistol?

Set a TM-spec pistol to 80 PSI or below, while most WE pistols run correctly in the general 80 to 120 PSI pistol range. The absolute ceiling for HPA-fed pistols is 140 PSI, and exceeding the maker's specification accelerates nozzle and hammer wear and can push velocity over field limits. TM pistols are built around a lower factory output of 280 to 310 FPS, so they need less pressure than WE pistols. Start at the bottom of the range, chronograph, and raise pressure in small steps only.

Why does black gas at about 170 PSI risk damaging a standard WE pistol?

Black gas at about 170 PSI risks damaging a standard WE pistol because it runs far above the 115 to 120 PSI of the green gas the pistol was designed for. Red gas, at roughly 140 PSI, is already a step up in stress, and black gas is intended for reinforced guns only. In a standard WE pistol, which shoots 300 to 350 FPS on green gas, the extra pressure speeds up slide, nozzle, and hammer wear and can crack parts. Stay with green gas unless the maker rates the gun for stronger gas.

Will AR-pattern AEG magazines from other brands feed reliably in a WE AR-pattern AEG?

Usually yes, because AR-pattern AEG magazines follow a shared external pattern, but feed reliability varies by brand pairing. Differences in the magazine catch window height, the feed tube position, and follower spring strength mean one brand's magazine may sit a fraction low or high in a WE receiver, causing occasional misfeeds even though it locks in. Test any cross-brand magazine with a full load before a game, check that it locks without forcing, and prefer magazines that feed a full string on semi and full-auto without a pause. Locking in is not the same as feeding well.

Will a 14mm counter-clockwise threaded outer barrel accept a typical tracer unit or mock suppressor?

Yes, in most cases. The 14mm counter-clockwise (CCW) thread is the dominant standard on airsoft rifle outer barrels and pistol threaded barrels, and most tracer units and mock suppressors are cut for exactly that thread. Check two things before buying: that your barrel actually has external threads rather than a thread protector glued over plain metal, and whether the accessory is listed as 14mm CCW rather than 14mm clockwise, which is a rare but real alternative. Hand-tighten only; cross-threading aluminium threads ruins both parts quickly.

Do Deans and mini-Tamiya battery connectors interchange, or do you need an adapter on an AEG?

They do not interchange directly. Deans (T-plug) and mini-Tamiya connectors have different housings and contact geometry, so a battery fitted with one cannot plug into an AEG wired for the other. A short adapter lead works for testing, but it adds resistance and bulk inside a tight battery compartment. For regular play, most players either re-terminate the battery leads or have the gun rewired to one standard. Deans contacts carry current with less voltage sag under load, which is why upgraded builds usually settle on Deans throughout.

Can a WE M9 use the extended magazine made for the WE M9A1-style railed model?

Yes. The railed and unrailed WE M9 variants share the same magazine pattern, so standard and extended WE M9 magazines interchange between them. A standard WE M9 magazine holds roughly 25 to 28 rounds depending on loading, and the extended version adds length below the grip rather than changing the feed geometry. What does not interchange is the gas type: a CO2 M9 magazine and a green gas M9 magazine are built around different pressure systems and should never be substituted for one another in the same pistol.

Will any 20mm Picatinny accessory fit any 20mm rail on an airsoft gun?

Almost always, yes. The 20mm Picatinny pattern is a shared standard, so red dots, lights, grips, and lasers built for 20mm rails mount across brands and across airsoft and real-steel accessory lines. Two practical exceptions exist: very cheap cast mounts occasionally run slightly undersize and wobble until shimmed, and some pistol under-rails are a shorter proprietary length that limits where a light can sit. If a mount rocks after tightening, check for paint build-up in the rail slots before blaming the accessory, and never force a cross-bolt that does not drop cleanly into a slot.

Does a WE Galaxy 1911 take the same spare magazine as a WE Galaxy G-series pistol?

No. The Galaxy 1911 uses its own 1911-pattern magazine holding 16 rounds, while the Galaxy G-series models use a different, wider magazine pattern with a different feed-lip and valve layout. The two magazines look similar in photographs because the pistols share styling cues, but they do not seat or seal in each other's frames. When ordering spares, match the magazine to the exact Galaxy variant named on the product page, and keep one known-good magazine as your reference whenever you test a new spare.

Can you fit a 6.03mm inner barrel made for an AEG into a GBB pistol?

Not as a drop-in swap. AEG and GBB inner barrels differ at the hop-up end: the window cut, the bucking seat, and the retaining geometry are platform-specific, and GBB pistol barrels are also much shorter, typically around 97 to 112mm on Hi-Capa-length pistols versus 229mm and up on carbines. A barrel listed for your exact GBB model and length is the correct buy. Diameter alone (6.01, 6.03, or 6.08mm) says nothing about fit; the cut pattern decides whether the barrel installs and seals at all.

Are green gas and propane interchangeable in a WE pistol if you add silicone oil?

Functionally they are close, but they are not identical products. Green gas is propane with silicone oil and fragrance already blended in; dry propane from a hardware-store canister lacks that lubricant, so players who run it add a drop of silicone oil at the adapter every few fills to keep magazine and pistol seals conditioned. Pressure behaviour is essentially the same, so a WE pistol tolerates either. The real differences are practical: propane smells, its canisters need an adapter, and some fields and indoor sites only permit commercial green gas on site.
